Amigurumi Pattern: Wild Kids – Fox

The first amigurumi pattern of 2024 and the first of the collection “Wild Kids”. This time we have this cute little crochet fox kid with their little fox plushie! Cute!!!

I first had the idea to crochet amigurumi kids dressed in their pajamas around 2014. Some of you might even remember that I shared it on Instagram and here on the blog. Along the way I hit a snag and then a new project came along, and then another, and another… and I never picked it up again… Until now! 10 years latter!

In 2014 I started with the frog but this time around I went with the fox! I went back to my sketchbook and came out of it with 27 versions for the Wild Kids collection!

One of the goals for this collection was to make the amigurumi entirely soft so small children can enjoy them. This means no hard parts, safety eyes, or wires are allowed. To that end has well, this time, I decided to go bigger and make the amigurumi huggable!

I used baby safe cotton yarn for this amigurumi, but you can use acrylic or other yarns. Just make sure to chose a baby safe yarn if you are making this amigurumi for small children that mouth their toys.

Since I was making this amigurumi with children in mind, I wanted to give it a rounder and soft shapes. It took me a couple times but I really like the shape of the body, it makes the child look it’s wearing a super soft and comfy onsie!

I thought it would be cute for the amigurumi kid to have its own little plushie, so every wild kid will come with a plushie inspired by their onesie. In the pattern you’ll also find step-by-step photo instructions to turn the little plushie into a keychain or charm if you so desire.

I really like how the fox, the first pattern for the Wild Kids collection came out and I’m really excited to crochet the next one!
