Learn how to make one of my favorite stitches, the linked double crochet!
The fabric resulting from the linked double crochet isn’t as loose as one worked with double crochets but it’s still soft and not as stiff or bulky as one worked with single crochets.
The linked double crochet is the same height as a double crochet so it works up quickly! Follow the written instructions or the video tutorial below!
Linked Double Crochet – Middle of the Row
- Insert your hook under the horizontal bar in the middle of the previous stitch;
- Yarn over and pull up a loop;
- Insert your hook into the next stitch;
- Yarn over and pull up a loop;
- Yarn over;
- Pull through 2 loops on the hook;
- Yarn over;
- Pull the yarn through the 2 remaining loops on the hook;
- Repeat from the beginning to the end of the row.
Linked Double Crochet – Beginning of the Row
- Chain 2 and turn your work;
- Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook;
- Yarn over and pull up a loop;
- Insert your hook into the first stitch of the row;
- Yarn over and pull up a loop;
- Yarn over;
- Pull the yarn through 2 loops on the hook;
- Yarn over;
- Pull the yarn through the last 2 loops on the hook;
- Work linked double crochets to the end of the row following the steps for the middle of the row.
