This project was inspired by my mom, who once nearly chopped her finger while cooking. So I made her an amigurumi “backup” finger just in case! =)

And as it was promised here is the tutorial so you can crochet your own amigurumi zombie finger! It is super quick to crochet and is the perfect final touch for your handmade Halloween decorations!
Materials
For zombie finger:
- Medium weight yarn in dark green
- Medium weight yarn in dark red
- Light weight yarn in old pink
- Light weight yarn in white
- 3,5mm hook
- 2,5mm hook
For flesh toned finger:
- Medium weight yarn in flesh toned color
- Medium weight yarn in red
- Light weight yarn in light pink
- Light weight yarn in white
- 3,5mm hook / US E4 /UK 9
- 2,5mm hook /UK 12
For both:
- Tapestry needle
- Stuffing
- Sewing thread of the same or similar color of the finger
Abbreviations
- Rnd: round, rounds
- st: stitches
- sl st: slip stitch
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- hdc: half double crochet
- dc: double crochet
- inc 2: increase by working two stitches in the same stitch
- inv dec 2: decrease by using the invisible decrease method
Finished size: 11cm (4 inches) long

The terminology used in this pattern is the US terminology. Gauge is not important.
Finger
Using the flesh toned or the green yarn and the 3,5mm hook.
The finger is worked in continuous rounds. Don’t join rounds at the end. You may want to use a marker to indicate the beginning of the round.
All stitches are worked in both loops unless indicated otherwise.
Rnd 1: 6sc in Magic Ring (6st)
Rnd 2: (1sc, inc 2) x 3 (9st)
Rnd 3: (2sc, inc 2) x 3 (12st)
Rnd 4-21: 12sc (12st)
Rnd 22: Front loop only – 12sc (12st)
– Sl st, needle join and weave in ends
– Stuff
– Change color to the red or dark red yarn
Rnd 23: Back loop only – join with sl st to the 1st stitch of Round 22, (inv dec 2) x 6 (6st)
– Reinforce stuffing if needed
– Close and weave in ends.
Nail
Using the light pink or old pink yarn and the 2,5mm hook.
The nail is worked in rows. All stitches are worked in both loops.
Ch6
Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, 4sc, ch1, turn (5st)
Rnd 2-5: 5sc, ch1, turn (5st)
Rnd 6: 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc (5st)
– Finish off and leave long tail
– Sew to the tip of the finger (do not sew the top edge)
Bone
Make two french knots side by side using the white yarn. In order to make the french knots more prominent I wrapped the yarn 5 times around the needle.
Folds
The thread used in the following tutorial was chosen for clearness purposes only.
1. Cut a long length of sewing thread in the same or similar color of the finger and fold it in half. Thread both tails in the needle.
2. Insert the needle in the stitch where you want your top fold to begin, pull the thread until you have a loop in the end and insert the needle through the loop.
3. Pull the thread to create a knot.
4. Insert the needle where you want the top fold to end and make it come out where you want the bottom fold to begin.
5. Pull thread taught.
6. Insert needle where you want the bottom fold to end and make it come out in the beginning of the top fold.
7. Bend finger where you marked the folds, and at the same time pull the thread tight. Be careful not to break the thread.
8. Secure thread in the beginning of the top fold and weave in ends.
9. Completed finger.
